Moooooooooo!
The reaction in the Muslim world (especially Saudi Arabia) over the religious mockery initiated by the Danes is overwhelming . . . . .
Overwhelmingly dim, self-indulgent, and duplicitous.
Who oh WHO would ever have the guts to come out in the Middle-East and remind the Saudis (who pulled their ambassador) that not only encouraging the boycott of Danish dairy anywhere in the Muslim territory is a form of impulsive economic war on the WRONG PEOPLE but that by not respecting a country’s form of freedom of expression is reverting and negating any facade the country has put on since 9-11 of being reformist, sophisticated, and forward. OH DEAR ALLAH!! Not to mention the good ol` days of 1993 when I was being taught behind the walls of a rather large school in Riyadh how to hate and reject every other religion and creed that didn’t agree to our tolerant Muslim society!
YO!
TWO: Does anyone in that part of the world has the slightest idea what goes on in the American press, pop-culture and literary front? What is being printed and taught about the Saudis, the Wahabis, Muslims, the Gulfininas, the Egyptians, the Libyans here in America? All with the at most backing of HRH King George Bin Bush’s party?
But hey, it just seems a lot easier to say no to chees for some reason, coz of course we all know – us Saudis can’t live without our GMC’s and BLAZERS.
God Damn!
THREE: We criticize Bin Laden for bombing a building where many Muslim people and establishments resided. So, how about we try and give the Muslim European who is one of the 5000 people that will lose their jobs within a year a call and see how he feels about trying to land a work anywhere in the Dairy industry. Lose of Life can be a lot more painless than the loss of work.
It is really sad to see a country with self-proclaimed progression in thinking, and worldly intelligence relapsing to such tactics. As of the Palestinians and the Libyans, what is there to say about a bunch of nomads spending hours in the streets protesting days at a time while their mothers and sisters sitting at home trying to count the ways of puttingbacon bread on the table? Not much besides few antiks of pitty.

H5N1 in Babylon
“The story of her illness suggested a strong link, however. The girl touched a dead bird infected with the H5N1 virus on Jan 14, according to a statement by the Iraq health minister reported in the Times, and died three days later.”
Whenever there is a case of a child dying, of any reason anywhere in the world, I turn into an angry mush. And in this case, images of this beautiful girl dying haunted me every since I heard the news. I keep seeing her playing alone outside in the sun, dusty old sandals against the gravel lost in thought by news and image of war and death all around her. Doing what she knows to be the kind thing to do when a life is lost, burying a dead bird. Three days later, like a beautiful castle built on a sandy beach, she is gone too soon.
Goodbye, my
friend.
